One fourth of "Rīgas satiksme" webpage visitors get public transport news also from their mobile phones

Almost one fourth of Rigas satiksme webpage visitors use the possibility of following "Rigas satiksme" public transport schedules and searching public transport routes at their mobile phones, according to an opinion poll carried out at www.rigassatiksme.lv.

The results of the opinion poll suggest that 17% of respondents use this possibility on a regular basis, but 8% do it now and then.

Only 12% of the respondents were not informed about such a possibility, and 63% said they preferred other sources of information. More than 3000 of "Rigas satiksme" webpage visitors took part in the opinion poll.

The possibility of following public transport schedules in a mobile phone is offered by "Rigas satiksme" at http://saraksti.rigassatiksme.lv/wap since January 2008.

In July, the webpage of "Rigas satiksme" was visited 454 717 times, but current information about public transport was requested more than 1 million times. The information about public transport schedules was searched more than 3 million times.

At the website of "Rigas satiksme", one can find all the current information about public transport service in Riga, public transport route changes and departure times, as well as information about the types of tickets.
